Element - Nine Mall EP (12 inch)

ダブ、ダンスホールの新たな価値を発信し続けるRiddim Chango RecordsがParallel Lineなるサイドレーベルをこの度ローンチ。その第一作である、レーベルオーナーElementによる12’を入荷しました。
Bokeh Versionsからのリリースに引き続いて、Duppy Gun所属のMC、I Jahbahをフィーチャーした、浮遊感漂う少し不思議なダンスホールチューン“Chicken Gravy Shorts”含む、レフトフィールドダンスホール/ダブ4曲入り。

過去 13 作品に渡り、オルタナティブなダブ、ダンスホールをリリースし、世界中の DJ、サウンドシステムからサ ポートを受けてきた Riddim Chango Records がよりエクスペリメンタルなダブにフォーカスしたサブ・レーベルとし て Parallel Line をスタート!

第 1 作の Nine Mall EP はレーベルを手がける Element によるテクノ/エクスペリメンタルなダンスホール/ダブの 4 曲を 収録。2022 年にブリストルの前衛レーベル Bokeh Versions と共同でリリースした Andromeda EP に続き Duppy Gun MCs の I Jahbar を客演に迎え、アブストラクト/SF ダンスホールチューンの Chicken Gravy Shorts とモジュレーション ・ディレイを多用した強烈なダブワイズ Chicken Gravy Dub を A 面に収録。

B 面では Pulsar のインダストリアルなドラムサウンドを使用したテクノ・ダンスホール Nine Mall とレゲトン/デムボ ウのリズムを取り入れたオブスキュアでメランコリーなダンスホール Marian Gravity を収録。
マスタリングには国内レゲエアーティストの多数を手がける E-mura、レーベルのロゴは 1-Drink(石黒景太)、アー トワークは Aki Yamamoto が担当。

Element, co-founder of Riddim Chango imprint, introduces his latest creation, a 4 track EP, under the freshly forged subsidiary label, Parallel Line.

The EP opens with the abstract dancehall mic-man in Kingston I Jahbar, reprising his collaboration with Element from their 2021” Andromeda EP on Bokeh Versions, narrating rhythmic tales of style and ambitious hustle. The records transitions to the intense dubwise cut to the A1,“Chicken Gravy Dub”, and the B-side unfolds“Nine Mall”and“Martian Gravity,”instrumentals resonating with obscure yet atmospheric dancehall/dembow echoes.

Set to release in digital and 12" vinyl in November 2023, this EP embodies a fusion of eclectic influences, resonating with reflecting the innovative and unique soundscapes of
Element and his Parallel Line imprint.
